I read through the strathclyde routes and they drop big hints about where they are likely to be sitting, didnt go as far as which bus shelter or tree they'd be hiding behind though

I see what mean Stu, I've just read through them too. These are places I've seen them frequently. I was surprised by the mention of a camera van on the road to Dalmally from the Welly. I've never seen that before. Hopefully I will though if it's there!!
To be fair, I was meeting a few guys from work for a ride out a while back. I met them at the public toilets in Callander which are right beside the police station, as we were sitting there a couple of traffic cops came out in a 4x4 and stopped beside us. Asking where we were heading, we told them Oban and they said be careful through Strathyre, we'll be setting up with speed gun there! I've also seen them in Lochearnhead.
In fact to quote one officer, 'we don't mind you enjoying yourself, fast is okay in the right place, just don't be daft!!'
