Ace Cafe might be a bit far unless we stopped somewhere else on the way down..
It'll be mid summer hopefully. I would think July or August. If we do head south at least we'll have a better chance of good weather.

Aye heading south for the good weather seems logical! So do you have a basic plan or outline? Or is this the initial "feelers"?

Ok my twopence worth....

I'm happy to head north, east, south or west, I'll do lots of riding, or a little, or a bit of both! I'll camp or stay in a hotel/B&B etc, I'll ride far away or stay close to home, I'll stay in the uk or hit mainland Europe?

Hope this clears what I'm willing to do.... Very Happy

PBF Rally 2012 Empty Lack of response :-(

Post by G-force Tue 18 Oct - 3:41

I'm still keen to hear everyones opinions on the PBF Rally next year. It is open to all members. Anything will be considered/discussed.
Please think about what you would want from a weekend away biking, and post suggestions.

We need to start thinking about it soon to plan travel arrangements/accommodation/time off work etc.

Thanks all.

Glad to hear it Stu. At least get your theory test out the way, then you're free to book your others anytime. I'd be glad to get out with you for some practice sometime. Very Happy

I'll def be taking you all up on the offer of practical stuff. Riding daily but know I'm making daft mistakes and can improve just about everything. To be fair, when I "forget" I'm riding and relax a bit, everything flows much better - need to learn to stop over thinking everything, but trying to focus on riding for the tests and not riding as I would everyday if that makes sense?

I think I'm OK on the theory, been driving for years and tried a good few of the online tests with no problems. Keep clicking too early on the hazard perception stuff though so need to remember to wait until the hazard develops rather than just assuming everyones out to kill me lol

I had a 125 before I sat the test, I found it was a really good way of learning how to ride on the road, I didn't really practice "test" riding, but learned how you ride on the road, in the real world! Very Happy

Just keep riding your bike and getting used to riding, soon things will become second nature. All you need to do is seperate real world riding from the test type of riding, because, for some strange reason it's different! Very Happy

Ps I think we should head south of the border this year, we,ve been up north, and the boys went to Ireland last year. So it kind of makes sense.... Very Happy I'm not to sure where exactly down south we should go, if we head that way? It's open to suggestions!

I've been thinking about this too..
South does make sense as we've had a weekend way oop norf and another across the watter. Trouble is, the roads are much busier and foo ay the polis the further south you go..
How does this sound.. one night in cumbria/lancashire (lakes) then down to wales for another night. Maybe head back up via yorkshire for a third night?

Also remember the big Rallies such as The Farmyard party and Stormin the castle are in yorkshire...

I still also fancy heading up north again, Skye, Applecross or somewhere like that, maybe the Ardnamurchan Peninsula or even Mull... but that could just be a rough camping one nighter.
Thoughts?
