E10 Fuel

Apparently the government are planning to introduce E10 fuel in the near future. What is E10 fuel? It has a 10% bio ethanol content made from fermented crops.
What are the benefits? It's cheaper to produce and carbon friendly.
Disadvantages? Ethanol is less efficient so you would burn more of it. And this is the biggy... It's damaging to fuel systems. Ethanol can degrade fuel lines, rubber and gaskets. Many new engines are capable of running this fuel mix but for older types it could raise serious problems.
