I am going to the farmyard party. if anyone else is up for it let me know. I'll be meeting a load of bikers from the east coast and travelling down with them.

Well, I'd have considered myself a rally virgin until going to the Farmyard, although I have been to a 'Magic Carpet Rally' with the Suzuki GSX1400 club, this was a real eye opener!

The sheer scale of it blew me away. Imagine T in the Park but solely for bikers. without the neds offering you drugs.. it was old guys with beards offering them instead!! Very Happy

I'll start from the beginning, The ride down was good, well planned and led by my mate Thumper who knew the way and was familiar with the roads. Pace was reasonable, quick, but not excessive. Wink Total 250 miles.

On arrival we had the choice of two fields to camp in. One with campfires where the organisers (MAG) had set aside a mountain of firewood for everyone to use, and the other with no fires which is the one we chose and was closer to the entrance.

There was plenty room to pitch your tent and your bike was parked right beside you. A sidestand puck is advisable although a beer can does the same job!

Entertainment was in abundance and there was never a shortage of things to do or see, in the main arena were several stages with bands, bars and foodcourts along with traders stands, burger vans etc, shop, and even a mobile phone charging stall (which I didn't find til sunday!).
Custom bike show, wheelie machine, and a dance tent, comedy tent, too much to list.
See link below.

The company was great too, everyone friendly and foo ay the banter!

There was everything there from a 50cc scooter and a mini moto to a V8 trike (even a monkey bike Andy!). No cars, no vans and no pedestrians. If you didn't ride in you didn't get in.

And at £25 for the weekend it was great value. Also if you join MAG (Motorcycle Action Group) you get discounts and money back beer vouchers. Plus you can bring your own drink so it doen't need to cost the earth.

Facilities were well maintained, toilets were cleaned regularly.

The atmosphere was lively but also relaxed, and obviously noisy with the constant rumble of bikes.

Weatherwise.. it was changeble, a few showers, but you just headed for a tent til it passed, and it wasn't cold. It was only the journey home where we hit a couple of heavy down pours, but who cares, we were heading home.

Knackered, but worth it!

I would definitely go back and will be attending Stormin' the Castle in September too.

Probably couldn't have put it any better, apart from the rain coming home, I was soaked, cold and pissed right off, hence why I headed off once it looked like it was drying, so apologies for not saying my goodbyes.

I unfortunately missed the wet T shirt contest & exoctic dancer due to the fact that I was barely able to focus on my own hand by the end of the night!! I think I might have ended up in the dance tent at that point.. drunken

Stuart, after we stopped at 'The last cafe in England' we pretty much headed off at our own pace and after the fuel stop in Jedburgh we kinda split up too, just keen to get home so don't worry about leaving us, I think we all felt the same.
